Young Leader Award

British Orienteering provides an award scheme aimed at 14-19 year olds to help introduce orienteering to beginners and to assist at events.

The award aims to encourage them to undertake an involvement in sports leadership and volunteering that will continue later in life. It forms part of the Government’s PE and School Sport Club Link (PESSCL) strategy. The award is contained in the latest edition (April 2007) of the Sport England/Youth Sports Trust booklet “Step into Sport”.
