School leagues are local events normally set up and run by local orienteering
clubs. Their aim is to provide orienteering competitions for local schools.
They are an excellent type of event to take part in particularly if you are new to
the sport. Schools competing for the first time are always welcome and advice
will be available to help you get started.
It may be better giving the league's co-ordinator a telephone call first for up to date information and
advice. You need not compete as a school, you may like to try the sport on
your own although having friends with you is more fun. At some school league
events there may be a longer technical course for adults.
